Program Note
2009 AND Busan Bank Fund A drama-filled documentary chronicles one man’s life over 20 years. He begins his day, not much different from any other day 20 years ago. Outside noise wafts through the window and his mother nags. He goes to school, writes, gets into an argument with friends, and falls in love. Soon, he wakes up to the sound of his wife’s voice and a child is born. As such, life quietly continues on. No matter how ordinary it may be an individual’s life is interesting. Although everything ppears to be the same, while we are living from day to day, we cannot predict what will appen the very next day.[The Sound of Old Rooms] records an ordinary person’s life, hich nobody can predict yet everyone can identify with. As we watch how a young Indian an grows into Indian adult and the head of his own family, we are reminded that n ordinary person’s life is every bit as interesting as a so-called extraordinary one, and s a valid documentary subject.
