Grandma takes her grandson Ahmed to look for her son who has been missing since the first Gulf war. For Ahmed, the journey for the unknown father seems pointless suffering. In the windy desert that buries the dead, he finally realizes the meaning of hope and fear that his father and nation had endured. Son of Babylon is a road movie that retraces the tragic Kurdish history by following the journey of Grandma and a boy. A 12 year-old Ahmed endures the journey only to see the Hanging Garden of Babylon. The beautiful green forest built in the middle of the desert, the Hanging Garden was the present from the King of Babylon to his beloved Kurd Queen who missed the mountain of her hometown. The garden may be a symbol of love and reconciliation between Kurdistan and Arab countries locked in thousands of years ago. The film hopes that the peace made in the myth would come true today.
