This is a remake of the popular Thai series from the ’60s also called [Red Eagle]. Wisit Sasanatieng, who possesses an eye for the most unique cinematic colors, is the director. Mitr Chaibancha, killed in an accident while shooting [The Golden Eagle] in 1970, was the greatest star at the time and his sudden death has become a legend to the Thai people. [Red Eagle] is literally reborn after 40 years. In keeping with the contemporary superhero trend, the film depicts a hero that has human flaws rather than being a perfect being. 1,400 CG shots and new action sequences involving Red Eagle and Black Devil are brought to life by Sasanatieng’s creative and original ideas. Ananda Everingham, the lead actor, also gives a passionate performance that lacks nothing in presenting a 21st century image of Red Eagle. Sasanatieng explains that he wanted to pay tribute to Red Eagle and Mitr Chaibancha, whom he idolized in his childhood, and criticize the corrupt aspects of Thai society through the remake of [Red Eagle].
