[My Ex-wife’s Wedding] is a modern romantic comedy co-developed and co-produced by Korea, China and Hong Kong / China from its initial planning. Portraying the changing landscape of love among Chinese young people, the movie stars Chen Kun, Lui and Yuan Quan. The script was written in Korea then directed by Hong Kong director Lee Kunglok, while the crew was comprised of staff from China and Hong Kong and the location shooting was completed in Beijing. The story begins with a divorced man, Ma Yong (Chen Kun), who runs a wedding event company, falling in love with a new girlfriend. His romance confronts big problems when his ex-wife, Xiao Hong, is prone to coming to his house and disturbing him. Ma Yong decides to introduce his girlfriend to Xiao Hong. However, Ma Yong realizes that his best friend Zhang Chi (Lui) has been into Xiao Hong for a long time. New films full of young and vibrant senses have been pouring into the Chinese film market, which has seen sharp increases in its scale every year. This is a natural tendency, which tries to meet the eye level of audiences that demand different kinds of movies. [My Ex-wife’s Wedding] is also a new Chinese movie with a contemporary touch, which shows young Chinese people’s changing perspectives on love and marriage. A unique hybrid film has been born, mingling Korea’s strength for film development with Hong Kong’s production know-how.
