Program Note
Getting a hotel coupon by chance, a Korean woman visits the hotel. In a next few minutes, a Japanese woman arrives at the hotel with a coupon. In an off-season resort, two women become friends and spend time together. The more they spend the time together, the more they share the strange experiences. Eventually they realize that their meeting has been destined. This is a unique collaboration among Lim Kahwai, a Malaysian director, Kiki, a Japanese producer, and Yang Ik-june and Kkobbi Flowerain Kim, Korean actors. Only with a concept without a complete script, the production style of the project that improvised the story line resembles the story of the film that accidental meeting becomes a destined relationship. Yet it seems far from improvisation to show the sense of desolation of the empty resort and the magical experience of two women who unexplainably drawn to each other. As it is the collaboration of three countries, the linguistic play should not go without notice. Swinging from Korean, Japanese and English, two women unfold their unique and inseparable relationship. (CHO Young-jung)
