Nelu, a man in his forties, works as a security guard in the local supermarket in Salonta, a small town on the Romanian-Hungarian border. Salonta is a town full of illegal emigrants trying to cross over to Hungary, then further to Western Europe. Nelu and his wife Florica live alone at an isolated farmhouse needing roof repairs. One morning, Nelu catches a different type of fish from the river: a Turkish man trying to cross the border. At first not able to communicate, they find a way to somehow understand each other as time passes. Still, Nelu has no idea how to help this stranger. The film paints a picture of the thoughts and friendship between a man who can live without laws and one who is lawless. Pictures and films shown in the film also provide a detailed portrayal of a woman and her generation. (Jay JEON)
