Park debuted with The Moon is What the Sun Dreams of(1992) and gained critical acclaim internationally with his following works Joint Security Area(2000) and Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance(2002). In 2004, he won the Grand Prize of the Jury from Cannes International Film Festival with Old Boy(2003) and received again the Jury Prize with Thirst(2009). He introduced his first Hollywood production Stoker in 2013.
