A village in Kashmir where long conflicts still go on, a doctor takes a risk to cure a wounded leader of the rebels. While in surgery, soldiers raid his house and take him away. The son of the doctor returns home upon hearing the news but senses the subtle relationship between his mother and uncle after his father’s missing. Being in suspicious, the son, Haider, tries to find his father and one day, one mysterious man contacts him and tells it was the uncle who informed the military to take his father away. But his uncle insists that the man is a member of the extremist groups and frames him and makes up a story. Being trapped between two different claims, Haider must find out the truth what happened on the day. From adaptation of Hamlet, India’s respected director Vishal Bhardwaj completes his trilogy of Shakespeare after Maqbool(2003) and Omkara(2006). This film boasts a variation on the Bard’s powerful story and the dazzling performances of star casting including the emerging star Shahid Kapoor and famous actress Tabu who is known to Korean audiences for Life of Pi. Born in 1965 in Bijnor, Vishal Bhardwaj is an Indian film director, writer, composer and playback singer. As a director, he is known for his Shakespeare adaptations: Maqbool(2003) based on Macbeth and Omkara(2006) based on Othello.
