Program Note
How are fathers remembered? This film answers the question by portraying ten stories of a father who’s remembered differently in each case, from a heart-warming point of view. Here the father doesn’t look like someone who adheres to a patriarchal authority. Rather, the film depicts him as a man who lives a lonely life under the solitude of old age and even sheds tears in front of his children. He always cares for his son first hoping not to be a nuisance, while the son, who becomes an adult without realizing it, finds his father burdensome. This film brings to mind our fathers who are not with us anymore and only exist in memories. It also lets us keep echoing one word we often forget: love. On behalf of us, the director gives the words of gratitude on the film to all fathers around the world, who may have a drink somewhere alone at the moment and who are willing to take care of his children sacrificing himself.
