Memory of May consists of five short animations capturing the memories of Gwangju. By showing different techniques in each work, the film is composed of various animation styles. Some works combine image with music by using folk music that is well-known to Koreans. Chon Seung-il is one of Korea’s representative animators, and has produced works that link humans and society. Memory of May is about the May Democratic Uprising in Gwangju, a modern Korean tragedy. (LEE Sang-yong))
