Program Note
Ten years after the handover of Hong Kong, how have the people fared. Nine directors in Hong Kong have created 9 different stories that depict their feeling interpretations of love, sentiments, Hong Kong and the motherland, China. Red Egg on the Road - A traveler who is searching for his savior of 40 years ago and a taxi driver who is looking for his elementary school teacher try to make their wishes come true. Qing Pang - A twenty- year- old youth meets a girl during a journey. Although he forgets everything else, he keeps her in his memory. Open Rice - A family gathers together. Everyone insists on his/her own opinion but not the parents. Old Peak Road - A couple looks around their house. Tnhey are about to part, but they still have feelings for each other. A Dream of Hope - A son lives as a human vegetable for ten years. The doctor and mother belive that the boy dreams, and do not lose hope. Rock Lion Rock - Down the Rock Lion Rock, a girl is kept in her room. She meets a lion of the Rock Lion Rock who is disguised as a human and journeys outside. Paper Papa - A girl wants to travel to space in a paper spaceship, but her father keeps on drinking. The Last Bid Two women fight for the same man. However, the man only wants to take advantage of the women.

Ching po WONG
Wong Ching Po began his career working at a television station and then directing numerous commercials and music videos, as well as several motion picture ‘making of’ specials. He now owns his own production company. His works as an independent filmmaker include I Love Beth Tap (1997), Bamboo Doors, Bamboo Doors (1999), and The Dogs (2000). His last film, Fubo, was co-directed with Lee Kung Lok and was invited to the 8th PIFF.

Kung lok LEE
Lee Kung Lok worked as an assistant director in television stations and in the Hong Kong film industry for the first eight years of his career. He then formed an independent production company, Red Flag Productions, with fellow director Wong Ching Po. In 2003, he co-directed the acclaimed indie film Fu Bo, which screened at numerous international film festivals. In 2004, he directed Good Times, one of the first television dramas to be entirely produced and shot in Macau.

Ah Chiu
Born and raised in Hong Kong, Ah Chiu began as an assistant director for well-known directors such as Sammo Hung, Eric Tsang and Gordon Chan in the 1990s. Drawn to independent films early on, Wing Chiu Chan established ‘the Ah Chiu Workshop’ to pursue his dream. In 2002, he produced the documentary, [By Heaven’s Grace], which won Special Mention of the Jury at the Hong Kong Independent Short Film & Video Awards. [A Side B Side Seaside] is his feature directorial debut.

Chang Wai Hung
Born in Hong Kong in 1963, Chang has Written film reviews since 1983. He started his career as a screenwriter in 1985 when he joined Jackie Chan’s Golden Way Films Production Company. With HK $ 567, 200 from the government’s Arts Development Council,he wrote and directed his first film After the Crescent this year.
