Program Note
June, a carefree Thai woman, converts to Islam in order to marry Ake, a Muslim. Although it is not an easy decision, she submerges herself in her new life. How will June adapt? The documentary tracks the journey of June with an anxious perspective. This anxiousness stands out because of the friendship between the filmmaker and June. Rather than an interview, June chats in front of the camera and the filmmaker who listens to her stories, responds and giggles along. The film is an introspection on religion, love, and life.
