Former rock star Ivan is a miserable ex-soldier that lost both legs in the Croatian War of Independence. He lost his wife and his future is uncertain. When his father Izidor runs for public office he attracts the attention of Simo, a Serbian refugee who was once a communist official. As a jailer, Simo imprisoned Izidor and is in possession of damning information about the family that could destroy Izidor’s campaign. As a blackmail plan blossoms Ivan too falls under Simo’s sway and he makes a decision to commit suicide by engineering his own murder. Arsen Anton Ostojic’s complex narrative blends the personal and the political in a drama where the characters struggle to make sense of the present in light of the past that informs it. Desperate acts committed in the hope that of providing salvation rear up and remind all involved of the consequences.
