Dave is twenty-eight years old, lives at home, and is unemployed. To the question of why we exist, the ad screams, “The answer to this vexing question is now within your reach! You’ll find it in a small yet amazing booklet, which will explain, in easy to follow, simple terms your reason for being! The booklet... could be yours for a mere $9.99.” Dave is hooked and sets out on a quest to spread the good news. On his surreal journey, Dave meets an old man with an ornery guardian angel companion, a lonely man who befriends two-inch tall students and others in a film that weaves its narrative threads together to examine the post-modern meaning of hope.
