A woman who has been subjected to domestic violence witnesses her daughter being beaten by her classmate. Angered, she kidnaps the boy and locks him in her house. Although the boy finally escapes the savage violence of the mother and her daughter, he then heads back to their place again. The Blanket Area is a horror film filled with violent images. However, the film argues that true horror lies in ourselves, who have become accustomed to violence and who unknowingly commit violence. (Hong Hyosook)
