Program Note
Shot in black and white with digital 5.1CH by Sogo Ishii-with visual images and rock music pounding through the course of its 55 minutes-may well be called "cyber exciting battle movie". A man who, due to an electric shock as a child, is able to respond to electricity and communicate with reptiles, meets another enigmatic man, who, while working as an electrician, catches electric waves. The encounter between the two men and their inevitable battle is depicted in a punk-ish style. Just as in his previous films such as Angel Dust and Labyrinth of Dreams, Sogo Ishii′s new film is filled with suspense and fantasy. His world of ′ROCK" music has been revered by such cyber-punk movie directors as Shinya Tsukamoto. (Shion Yang)
