Program Note
A summer day, a girl, and violence are three key elements that make up this delightful short film. Shai is a teenage girl who spends the summer working as an employee at a small shop. Either on foot or riding the scooter, our heroine is always running at the speed of sound. Her rebellious mind is led into violent fantasies by characters such as the pickpocket and the preachy employer. The film moves through time and space as quickly as Shai’s feet. Shai’s expression, which moves through memories of childhood and the present, seem indifferent to the routines of everyday life. But in the end, her indifference strongly seizes the attention of the viewers. (Kwon Yong-min)
