Here, he plays Park, a plasterer who repairs the neighborhood furnaces in every house. He is an unsophisticated man and also the father of three. Park′s straight-laced son, Yong-bum, is a source of pride. But his hands are full with monitoring the dating lives of his two daughters. Park has lived his whole life to provide for his children, but they leave one by one, searching for their own future. He can only accept this reality... Mr. Park is our first look at KIM Seung-ho as a simple yet self-sacrificing father, the kind of role that would come to represent his career. The film offers a light-hearted look at the lives of regular folk of the time, doing such everyday things as drinking expensive Western liquor for the first time, finding a good son-in-law, and trying to drink without getting caught by the wife. At the same time, Mr. Park is a film that sympathizes with the pain of bowing down to those with more money and more education.
