Program Note
YEON Young-suk is a cultural laborer, singer, and activist. His music consoles the wearied people living in the tense neo-liberalistic society, but to him it is a tiresome reality. He chooses music as the biggest motivating power in his life and tries to live it out. He charges the paradoxical reality of suffering and consoling. As he shouts out in clubs, concerts, recording rooms, and in his attic, rather than realizing triumph through his music, it makes us think of what kind of victory we need at present. Through YEON’s life, the director looks at and attempts to solve some of the major issues in our society. (HONG Hyosook)
