Hyun-jeong, a 29-year-old woman with a united family and a good career, is dumped by her warmhearted boyfriend, Min-suk. He leaves her saying “I feel as if I`m disappearing.” Sang-hoon who looks unsophisticated and innocent approaches the unsettled Hyun-jeong. She at first rejects him but finally accepts his proposal. The happy marriage is, however, troubled and they soon drift apart from each other.
This film is about a normal couple. One woman is dumped by her boyfriend. She is in pain but soon she meets another man, falls in love, and gets married. The man is a nice person, but gradually becomes estranged. Although displaying several events which are too normal to be dramatized without exaggeration, SA-KWA makes the audience feel the weight of reality more and more. Nobody does anything wrong, but everything gets worse and worse. SA-KWA is full of observations on the mystery of life and love.
