Program Note
Shy yet sincere Ki-soo, who barely makes his living as driver, dreams to be a band drummer. He takes care of his brother`s son, let alone Jong-dae who became sexually disabled from the accident that may be caused by Ki-soo. Ki-soo feels insecure about Jong-dae`s doing errand for a villain Mr. Kim, but he just happened to get closer to Mr.Kim. All that Ki-soo wants is to do the best for Jing-dae and his nephew, but it never gets easy.
Telling the story of reckless youth as in his feature debut [My Generation], Noh twists several conventions of gangster genre in unique way. Deriving the extreme tension though minimalist style, he pushes the story in faster pace, while he portraits each character a bit loosely. This gloomy yet sensitive story reflects lethargic youth and darkness of society where good will can never survive.
