Program Note
The Moorgate Young Offenders Institution is the place where you don`t want to be. The inmates are nothing but trouble makers, and they are beyond control. One of the inmates who is bullied apparently commits a suicide, and the rests are to blame. They are sent to a remote island for discipline. For one week, they have to learn to work as a team in an alien world of dense forests, treacherous rivers and jagged cost line. But there is someone else on the island who wants to teach them a bigger lesson, and they are doomed to become his prey. Wilderness looks like a combination of two very entertaining films. It has fast pace of Lord of Flies and extremely brutal scenes of Battle Royal. The film has no dull moment and it will keep the audience on the edges of their seats whole time. This film can be a good model for any slasher-filmmakers. (Pak Dosin)
