Program Note
22 year old Sebastian is a house repairman who has nothing going on in his life with poor family to support. While he is at his work, he finds a letter, intended for someone else, with a train ticket and a set of instruction to participate in a mysterious game. He decides to accept the challenge and heads to the place where the game takes place. What happens next leads him to a clandestine world behind closed door, a nightmarish place with point of no return. A house in the small village by the ocean looks calm and peaceful. 13 Tzameti begins with serenity, but that serenity foreshadows portents of doom for the protagonist like calmness before deadly storm, deadlier than anyone can imagine. 13 Tzameti is a debut film of Gela Babluani, a son of award winning director, Temur Babluani. This film is so shocking that it will make you depressed…but in a good way. (Pak Dosin)
