Program Note

One day, Tomoya found that Aoi, his friend in his college days, was killed in a plane crash in the United States. Tomoya has talked to her first to approach his love interest who was Aoi’s friend. Aoi, who belonged to the film club at the college, agreed to play a matchmaker for him in exchange for the cost of her film. That was when “Circum Horizontal Arc” appeared in front of them. Tomoya had a broken heart instantly, and he was compelled to be in Aoi’s film “the End of the World”. Thus they became friends.

Naoto Kumazawa

Born in 1967, Aichi, Japan. He started to direct independent films as a student. After graduating, he became engaged with production business, while continuing on directing independent films. After becoming free lance, he directed many of his own works in the documentary and music video field. In 2004, his fist commercial film, [Tokyo Noir] was released, followed by [Letter From Niraikanai] in 2005, which won him many accolades both in and out of the country. His latest film is [Vanished], starring Ken Miyake from V6, one of the leading pop star group in Japan and in Asia.
