On a terrace in the old quarter of Hanoi, an aged father notices a parrot flying by and asks his son what it was. He asks the same question six times, which increasingly irritates his son. The son does not remember that 51 years earlier, when he was a four-year-old boy, he asked his father that same question seventeen times when he saw a flock of birds passing by.
