Program Note
How do we define ourselves, and how do we define our identities? Those are two of the questions at the heart of this documentary, an autobiographical film about a young man`s quest for self. Director In-Soo Radstake was born in Korea and adopted by Dutch parents as an infant along with eight other adoptees. Twenty-five years later, he heads back to Seoul in search of his birth parents. Is he Korean? Is he Dutch? Why? Through conversations with the adoptees, their parents and their rediscovered biological parents, the issue of identity is explored. Radstake`s return to Korea is a reality check and a stark awakening for a man seeking answers.
