Program Note
An architect, Baronas, makes a radical decision to forego his miserable life, job and relationship and begin anew, alone, in a forest outside Vilnius. Building a dream house in the trees far away from everything and everyone, he realizes his goal, but then experiences a crisis when he begins to question whether or not this is in fact what he wanted. Baron is ironically drawn into a very social love triangle after he encounters a strange woman on one of his regular sojourns around his new home. Feeling just as emotionally empty as he did before he left his old life, Baron is a typical modern man unable to reconcile his inner life with his outer one. Director Vildžiūnas explains that the phrase "You am l" derives from a Maya greeting meaning that we are all one, and in this fable, conflict arises when we disregard that simple fact.
