Fifty-year-old veteran waiter Edgar wants a change. His wife is chronically sick, he has a terrible job at a terrible restaurant, his neighbors are rude, and his extramarital affair doesn`t offer him much excitement either. On top of it all, in a development that make his life truly seem stranger than fiction, he finds out a random writer is controlling his fate.
