Program Note
For anyone who`s ever wished they could have five minutes with a filmmaker in order to demand a refund for a disappointing film, [Clash of Egos] will reverberate soundly. The comedy`s title in English is literally “explosive bomb”, and it`s an apt description of the tug-of-war relationship between a committed, determined father and a self-centered artist. Tony has just gotten out of prison and vows to turn his life around. When he finally gets permission to see his children, they go to the movies, but renowned filmmaker Claus Volter`s new picture isn`t the work of genius it`s advertised to be. Tony sets out to find the filmmaker so that he can get his money back, and more importantly, an explanation.
