In 1996, when the first international film festival in Korea was launched in Busan, Kim spearheaded the event and created a ‘real’ festival for cineastes. After fifteen years of dedication making it the most sought-after festival in Asia, he made Jury, a directorial debut short. He is currently preparing for his second film introducing BIFF volunteers.
