Can works as a dealer for the drug boss Hakan. Can is a small time dealer so he has difficulty providing for his girlfriend Jale and their daughter Meral. They live in Schoneberg, a poverty-stricken Turkish neighborhood in Berlin. Jale works in the warehouse of a department store and tries to persuade Can to give up the drug life. Can is not satisfied with his situation either but doesn′t know how to change it. He tries to fit the incompatible elements that make up his life together: the world of drugs, his family, violence and love. When his boss promises to make him manager of a bar, Can feels hopeful about a new beginning and about becoming independent. But the realization of this dream is slow in coming and in the meantime Can′s life falls more and more apart. The police are after him, Hakan begins to have doubts about him and Jale runs out of patience.
