Program Note
Dong-Chul, a pickpocket and beggar since childhood, meets Yook-Duk, a driver who is good-natured but a bit slow. In a failed ploy to kidnap a beautiful woman, they befriend the prostitute Hye-Young who gets them work at a brothel. When the boys are fired for fighting with a customer, Hye-Young follows them. Dong-Chul falls in love with Hye-Young but is it meant to be? When a man is a pickpocketing beggar, another man is mentally not at par and the woman is a prostitute, are happiness and agency available options for such social degenerates?
