Program Note
Some college students travel to the Caspian region for a camping trip and to participate in a kiteflying event during the winter vacation. By the bleak lakeside, there’s a restaurant, where three men are working as cooks. The three cooks look for some meat to cook, but nothing is available… except the camping students. The film is based on a true story about a restaurant that served human flesh. Yet the film goes beyond a typical, easily anticipated genre tale, by recounting the stories of each
one of the men who gathered there, one after another, about their past and present. From one person, continuously to the next, this film, shot in a single take, shows their stories like a mosaic. This is the second feature film created by Director Shahram Mokri, who has been working both for television and films. (KIM Byeongcheol)
