Program Note
Frantisek(ldiot) never got to know or experience anything. He spent his adult life behind the walls of an asylum so he only has first impressions of everything. He now returns to his only known relatives, yet they don′t really know of his existence. They know only their own lives and their own relationships, which are so web-like and complicated that Frantisek gets trapped in them. He gets involved in conflicts between lovers, siblings and parents. He lands in awkward, funny and stifling situations. He witnesses partners′ maneuvering, love conflicts and painful relations. He feels for everybody and is touched by everything. He understands them better than they understand themselves. However, the only one who understands him can help him to return.

Sasa Gedeon
Born in Prague, Czech Rephlic 1970. Sasa Gedeon studied at the Film Academy of Perfoming atrs(FAMU). Closed for Family Mourning was awarded the "The Best Drama"at the Film Festival of International Cinema Students in Tokyo in 1992. Gig won the best screenplay prize at the Angers Film Festival in France. His first feature film is Indian Summer and Return of the Idiot is his second feature film.
