Program Note

This film is about the relationship between one man and his eight-year-old Yamaha scooter, named DNU-747. Set in Taiwan, which has the highest density of motorbikes in the world, this films starts with the distinctive motorbike experience from the viewpoint of the bike. Tracing a journey from 1996 to 2004, the film is a private chronicle that will resonate with all Taiwanese people who have ever owned a motorbike.

HOU, Chi-Jan, writer and film director. He worked to “the Database of Taiwan Cinema”from collage days.Start making short film from 2002. His work tends to be lyric or experimental, with a strong personal style and is characterized by the theme of time and memory.His experimental [Stardust 15749001] won the Grand Prix of Taipei International Film Festival in 2003. Latest documentary work [Taiwan Black Movies] presents the cult film in repressive age of Taiwan 1970s.
