This film is very impressive for its gorgeously-colored sets and the actors′ outstanding performances. Instead of the speed caused by the intense emotion and the unexpected incidents of his previous work, Old Boy. Sympathy for Lady Vengeance presents the exquisite emotional tones caused by the discord d heterogeneous elements in the relatively slow-going story. Through this, audience would experience identification and estrangement in turns. This film is the completion of the Revenge Trilogy, which included Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance and Old Boy.

PARK Chan-Wook
Born in 1963, Park Chan-wook first worked as a critic. His debut film was Moon Is Sun′s Dream (1992). The Trio(1997) didn′t attract the attention of critics, but Joint Security Area JSA(2000) brought him to the top status of commercial directors in Korea. It went on to the Competition at the Berlin Film Festival and won the Jury′s Award at the Seattle Film Festival. He followed that up with Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance(2002), which received critical praise but performed poorly at the box office Old Boy won the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival in 2004.
