Since her debut as a child actor in 1996, actor Ryu Hyunkyung has consistently demonstrated versatility across both film and television. She further expanded her artistic horizons by directing, starring in, and taking part in the distribution of her feature film Don’t Go Back (2024). This year, Ryu visits Busan as a cast member of Sapiens, selected for Korean Cinema Today – Special Premiere, and as the director of Dog Fight, an official selection for Asia Project Market (APM). In addition, she will meet audiences firsthand as a Surprise Volunteer from 5:30 PM to 7 PM, on October 8 (Thu). She will personally check tickets for audiences attending the Open Cinema screening of In the Clear Moonlit Dusk at the Busan Cinema Center Roof Theater. From 6:30 PM onward, she will assist festival volunteers in ushering audiences and ensuring smooth entry to the screening.
Actor Park Jonghwan, who has established his distinct screen presence through films like Hit the Night (2017), The Land of Morning Calm (2024), A Lonely Island in the Distant Sea (2021), and The Conversation (2021), visits BIFF this year with Space and Some Detective, both selected of this year’s Vision – Korea section. On October 12 (Mon), from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, he will step in as a Surprise Volunteer, delivering the opening announcement for Talk-to-Talk Scene Stealers: Steal the Spotlight at HANMAC SMOOOOOTH LOUNGE. Subsequently, he will usher audiences for the Competition screening of The Sea Speaks His Name at the Busan Cinema Center Cinematheque at 3:05 PM, followed by the World Cinema screening of Queen at Sea at the Busan Cinema Center Haneulyeon Theatre at 3:40 PM. Detailed schedules for both actors are outlined below.
