Program Note
Ah-Zhou, who is about to be honorably discharged from military service, has a surreal dream the dream, he sees the dead body of Chen Shin-shin, a classmate in elementary school from years back. Isthis dream implying that Chen Shin-shin might have died? Soon afterwards Ah-Zhou gets an unexpected five-day vacation and decides to look for Chen Shin-shin. Ah-Zhou quickly learns that the special vacation is for him and another soon-to-be-discharged solider. Xiao-Guei, to go after a deserter, Kuen-He, who ran away two days ago. Both of them are worried about this assignment because they, the old birds, used to pick on Kuen-He, a spring chicken. And Kuen-He is now a deserter, armed and dangerous. Ah-Zhou finds Shin-shin in a mental hospital and discharges her. Together, they travel to a fisherman′s village on the east coast. After a few days, they unexpectedly run into Kuen-He, who abducts them at gunpoint, and keeps them captive in a little house along the coast. In fear of their lives, Ah-Zhou and Xiao-Guei will soon find out why Kuen-He has come to this location, and what he plans to do here. (production notes)

Fuchun HSU
Fu-chun Hsu was born in 1967 and graduated from Tankang University in Taiwan. While a university student, he learned about TV and Film production under Shau-di Wang. Hsu was the assistant director in the films Tropical Fish and Love Go Go, directed by Yu-hsun Chen, and Brave 20, directed by Ming-tai Wang. Holiday Dreaming is Hsu’s feature film directorial debut.
