This is a story about a father, Lothar who desperately looks for his missing daughter, Martha. As Lothar keeps on finding one clue to another, he learns out that many other kids have disappeared as well. By the help of a boy, Lou whom he meets on the street, he finds a place where children are gathered. The children are protected by armed men. At the site surrounded by surreal atmosphere, Lothar anticipates an overwhelming change. The movie, Report of Disappearance, reminds many aspects of a well-known story, Pied Piper. However, the pied piper is not so much of a peculiar being who lures children but rather a being that mirrors the society that have many facing lack of communication and isolation. It is hard to find out what exactly it is but the fear the group of people in the movie is simply overwhelming Lothar throughout the movie. It is about fundamental fear of not knowing where things are heading, and with mysterious atmosphere, it is pushing Lothar deeper into the mystery. (LEE Sang-yong)
