A group of middle-aged Austrian lades travels to Kenya. They encounter with local young men who were selling their items on streets and end up in prostitution. In fact, this has been what these Kenyan young men have wanted. They approach the Austrian travelers saying that they will open their eyes to true love, but what these young men actually want is money. <Paradise: Love> unveils the most controversial plot between the loneliness of Europe (downfall) and the plunge of Africa (poverty). The scenes of sexual intercourse are place somewhere between lies told by Kenyan young men and false consciousness of Austrian travelers. The relation between the two sides mirrors a numerous type of tensions including Europe and Africa, men and women, Africans and Caucasians and power and money. However, what two naked bodies in a shabby room in a small seaside village is the weakness of humanity within everything intertwined. The soft and spiritless human body, by desire and social status, builds relationship with others and often creates sheer barriers. However, camera works of Ulrich Seidl show no hesitations in unveiling such relation in hypocrisy.
