Program Note
This is the first feature film by a famous Estonian music video director, Heleri Saarik. Her music videos and this film share the same world view. What is different between the two is that the film reveals the hidden side of musicians and approaches the look of their floating lives. You may find a weird attachment from Leila who never gives up on music even under difficult circumstances. The film, dealing with work and love, depicts how a woman grows up while going through a series of worldly events. She experiences chaos under the influence of drugs or moves her body with soft music. The most important thing for her is that she refuses to compromise with ordinary life. Such an attitude is the basic philosophy of her life and her music. Life tends to be destroyed very easily, but on rare occasions a flower called music (or art) blooms like her destructive songs.
