Homicide detective Choi is fed up with the busy and rough life of Seoul. He requests to be reassigned to a police unit in the countryside. The small village where there is no crime all year round is literally a paradise for him. His colleague. Officer Ko, however, wants to get out of the monotonous village and really work like a policeman, The government decides to ciose domm this small police stand because of the low criminal rate, Now Detective Choi is placed in a situation where he has to commit a crime to keep the police stand going. me iim is full of irony. One has to work hard in order not to work. Now a policeman must commit a crime. The camera not only follows the busy movements of the main characters but also stops at the meaningless movements of surrounding characters. The characters are plain and the storyline is distracted. Yet it is an interesting film with sarcastic sensitivity not often found in Korean films, a bizarre sense of humor and a totally unpredictable ending.
