Program Note
This film could be possible if John Updike modeled two classes of Rome in the 21st century, or if Robert Altman remade Short Cuts in Italy. Of course, to reflect individuality, a few drops of blood should be added. A gunman celebrating his wife’ birthdays, a hospital cleaner, a doctor who almost caused a car accident, a director who stopped making movies, a man fascinated by incense, and a woman cheating on her husband. All the major players are dragged out by the long threads of their lives. The Predators is full of acrimonious and mischievous jokes. (LEE Yong Cheol)

Director
Pietro CASTELLITTO
Son of Italian actor and filmmaker Sergio Castellitto and writer Margaret Mazzantini, Pietro Castellitto made his cinema debut at age 13, playing a small part in Non ti muovere (2004), a film adaptation of his mother’s novel, directed by and starring his father. He studied philosophy at the Sapienza University of Rome and appeared in films such as Love & Slaps (2010), Twice Born (2012), and The Armadillo’s Prophecy (2018). The Predators is his first narrative feature, which won the Best Screenplay in the Orizzonti section of the Venice Film Festival.
