There are people who were expelled from their Singapore for challenging government policies. They were forced to live in exile for over thirty years for a matter of little import in retrospect. Some have thankfully left with their family, but some waited around to return home and formed new families. All of their lives are different, but the one thing they share is that they are all waiting for the day they can return home. They do not hold grudges against their homeland, but Singapore continues to ignore them. Singapore remains their loving home, but they must use a third country to meet with their family members. Director Tan Pin Pin goes in search of those who have been exiled from Singapore. They are spread out throughout the world, from Thailand to Europe. In her interviews, she asks them why they left their home, and how they have lived afterwards. Their story is a love letter to Singapore, but a letter that will not get a reply. (CHO Young-jung)
