Program Note
In a plantation harvesting tropical fruit, laborers work like prisoners. Missing his wife, Tonton tries to escape but is captured. Unable to stand the violent foreman, Tonton and his friend finally commit murder and escape. The film describes the process of losing one’s hopes and humanity in a place of violence and exploitation with intensity and full of energy. (CHO Young-jung)

Abhilash CHANDRA
Abhilash Chandra is a Malaysian filmmaker who grew up on a palm oil plantation. He graduated from law school at the University of Wales and shortly after pursued his MFA at New York′s Tisch School of the Arts. He has been involved in over 30 short films which has taken him all over Asia.
