Hiroko has been mostly unlucky. Always at the bottom of her class when young, and close to a loser at the moment, she expects a great reversal in her life. She is set to say goodbye forever to her pathetic past on the day of her wedding. However, the dead body of the perverted landlord is unexpectedly dumped in front of her. [Killer Bride’s Perfect Crime] is a topsy-turvy hurly-burly comedy that happens when Hiroko meets the suicidal Hukuko. Directed by Japan’s veteran actor Kishitani Goro, this film also belongs to the leading actress Ueno Juri. It is because the biggest pleasure of the film lies in the moments watching how the lovely Ueno Juri copes with the continuous misfortunes. The comedy gives way to horror, fantasy and musical genres occasionally, when all kinds of unexpected happenings follow one after another. Narrative details may not be important if the film has an obvious purpose. [Killer Bride’s Perfect Crime] is a film faithful to its goals. However, another misfortune is waiting in the end.
