Worlds Apart is made up of three love stories between Greeks and foreigners. The first is about Greek Daphne and Syrian refugee Farris. The two fall in love when Daphne almost gets her bag stolen and Farris comes to her aid. But troubles arise when Daphne’s father joins a radical rightwing group. The second story is about Greek company worker Giorgos, who is in a loveless marriage, and a coldhearted Swede Elise, who visits Giorgos’ company in order to restructure it—a story which shows the economic gap between Northern and Southern Europe and the economic crisis facing Greek corporations. The third tale also reflects Greece’s troubled economic situation. It’s about a budding romance. (RHEE Souewon)
