Program Note
Along with her younger sister Cathy, Yvonne returns home to watch over their dying mother, who lives with and cares for their disabled brother, Peter. Yvonne projects the image of a strong, successful and happily married woman, but in reality is always trying to forget about her tragic childhood events. Cathy is a struggling actress, who lacks self-confidence and feels intimidated by her successful sister. Peter, who loves his sisters unconditionally, is unaware that his mother is dying and does not know that anything has changed since childhood. Except for him, it is gradually revealed that the family faces a dilemma. What happens to Peter after their mother dies? [The Fading Light] is an emotionally intense drama about the disintegration of a loving family that questions whether it is really possible to escape from our past. (Jay JEON)
