Ocean Feveris a story of a rock music festival held in Taiwan in the summer of 2003. The Ho-Hai-Yan Rock Festival has tuned out to be an important opportunity for young independent Taiwanese bands to meet the world since its inception in 2000. The wide-open beach is neating up as bands are running for the finals. However, the heat does not come from the festival itselr. It also comes from the musicians′ passion and hard work that leads up to the festival. The film focuses on five rock bands: the female vocalist of ′Mango Runs′ impresses the audience with her sensitive voice. The teenag girls of Hotpink are in trouble, desperately in need of a drummer for their band. The livelihood of ′Totem′ made up of Taiwanese aborigines, are in dire straits if they don′t win the prize money. The members of ′Stone′ never stop being playful even during practicing while the ′Sunshine Boys′ have to deal with police officers who are dispatched to respond to neighbor′s complaints every time they practice. From a close range, director Chen Lung-nan takes a glimpse at the different bands, and illustrates the hard work and sacrifice they endure.
