Program Note
This film aims to critique of the kind of reasoning at work within a society which is capable of cruelty and causes individual suffering. The atrocities of an era are detailed in this espose that looks at the two espionage set-ups that took place in recent years under a civilian government with the testimony of a pro-democracy activist. Before the truth is completely buried under a mass of mainstream media reports, the film provides details of these events. The director questions whether enough value is placed on human life and confronts Korean audiences with the facade of their nation′s anti-Communist ideology. (Lee Sang-Yong)
